Alternative Hemorrhoid Treatments

Hemorrhoids are uncomfortable, annoying and embarrassing, but there are numerous hemorrhoid treatment available so don’t despair. At home, try taking a warm bath or applying an ice-pack to the affected area to reduce swelling and pain. Be sure to wear cotton underwear and light clothing as tight clothing increase the pressure on the body and increases swelling. You can also apply vitamin E oil or even Virgin Olive Oil to the site of irritation to alleviate itching and burning. Try an external wash in the steam of salty water. This has a cleansing effect disinfects the affected area.. If non of these hemorrhoid treatments is working for you then perhaps it’s time to try some more specific herbal remedies. If you are keen on trying herbal remedies then use a dandelion compress for 10 minutes, 4 times a day on the affected area. Witch Hazel, Butcher’s Broom and Sweet Clover can all be used in the form of a compress and applied directly to the site of irritation for soothing relief. Bovine cartilage can be taken as a natural remedy to soften stools while Camphor and Poplar can be used in topical creams to relieve pain, swelling and itchiness.
